Education, Training & Job Security

Our 1199SEIU Training and Employment Funds are an amalgam of several Funds aimed at helping our members earn high school, college and advanced education degrees, as well as train them for upgraded skills in a constantly changing work environment.

Our training and upgrading funds now cover nearly 200,000 members—including tens of thousands of new members in Upstate New York and Massachusetts.

An associated program of the Funds is our Labor-Management Project, now in various stages of development in over 50 New York hospitals and nursing homes. The Project seeks to increase workplace cooperation in order to foster improved patient care and worker satisfaction.
